Authority: The National Survey Authority (NSA).
Portal: The Geospatial Portal of the National Survey Authority of the Sultanate of Oman.
Customer: The natural or legal person who receives the service, or the contracting producer under this agreement.
We thank you for visiting the Geospatial Portal of the National Survey Authority. Your access to and use of this portal is subject to the terms and conditions of “user conditions,” which you must read carefully before using the portal. Your use of the portal implies your approval of it and any modifications to be made in the future. These conditions represent a binding contract between us
Terms and conditions of use of the geospatial portal of the National Authority:
Registration
- Some parts of the portal are only available to registered members. In order to obtain the service provided and the information available on the portal, the user is required to obtain permission after the official approval of the personal information submitted to the portal. The validity and authenticity of the data sent through this portal is the responsibility of the users. Users also ensure that this information is complete and accurate and will not register or try to enter the site using another person name.
- Governmental institutions, companies and individuals are required to register before using the portal, and the portal reserves the right to grant and terminate access.
- Personal information collected will only be made available to authorized government employees, in order to provide the services or information you have requested, and it will not be available for public viewing.
- National Survey Authority (NSA) is not responsible for any result might occur from the user's negligence in saving his username and password.
- Registered users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their username and password. Users are fully responsible for all activities that occur under their username.
- The customer undertakes to limit the use of his login data on the portal site by him personally if he is registered with him as a natural person, and if he is registered as a legal person (governmental or private entity), then the use of the entity’s login data is limited to the registered persons authorized by the entity on its behalf.
Termination of Use
The portal has the right, at its discretion, to terminate, restrict or suspend the user's right to access it or to benefit from its services or use it without prior notice if there is a violation of the terms and conditions of use, or any other behavior that might be under the portal’s consideration is harmful or illegal.
The right of entry for registered members to use the portal can be terminated by the member himself or by us at any time through the options available on the portal. We may terminate, suspend, or restrict the right to enter the geospatial portal of the National Survey Authority in the following cases:
- Violating the terms of this agreement or engaging in any behavior or act that violate Sultanate of Oman laws and regulations.
- Waiver, sublicense, sub-contract, or otherwise act in respect of any of your rights or obligations under the terms of the user without our prior consent. For example, you may not allow to provide your user identification code or your password to another person to carry out transactions on your behalf.
- Use this portal in any way to send any unwanted e-mail, or any abuse of this kind.
- Using the site to download any material containing programs that contain viruses, or "Trojans", or any computer code, files, or programs that may alter, destroy or impede the work of the site or any device or program belonging to anyone who accesses the site.
- Publish, advertise, distribute or circulate illegal materials, information or data that contain distortion or violation of the laws.
- Using the site to impersonate other persons or parties.
- Alleging to be associated with, or represent any company, association, or authority without being authorized to claim that relationship or representation.
- Publishing maps and atlases of the Sultanate without obtaining the approval of the National Survey Authority.
- Exporting the geospatial data and information executed in the Sultanate to abroad without obtaining a prior permission from National Survey Authority.
- Transferring, copying, or creating any content or electronic links in the portal.
Liability restrictions
By using the National Survey Authority’s Geospatial Portal, you must be aware of the possibility of human or technical errors while making efforts to provide accurate, up-to-date and reliable information. Therefore, the Authority is not responsible for the errors that may occur due to unintended human errors or those resulting from the disruption of operating systems or their cessation of work, and therefore the authority will not bear any liability or legal liability towards third parties as a result of this matter We are also not responsible for any delay that may arise from reasons beyond our control or the control of service providers when completing your request through the portal.
The information contained in maps and aerial photos cannot be interpreted as a legal description except when requested directly from the National Survey Authority through approved legal authorities, in accordance with the legal procedures in force in the Sultanate.
Antivirus protection
The portal makes unremitting efforts to check and test the portal's content at all stages of production. Therefore, it advises its users to use anti-virus programs on any material downloaded from the Internet. Your use of the portal means that you bear all risks resulting from this use, and this includes the risks of viruses to which the customer's devices, software, data, or files that are sent to you or that you use on this site are exposed. The portal expressly declares that it is not responsible for any special, emergency or incidental damages, and this includes - without limiting - the loss of revenue or profits resulting from the use or misuse of the site information.
Service obligations:
- The IT support department at the authority is obligated to provide assistance and technical support to the client regarding the services provided to him through the portal during official working hours. Receiving assistance from the support department does not mean giving any guarantees regarding the effectiveness of any special solution or the result suggested by the department. - There is no fee for this assistance, except for the usual telephone call charges based on your local call center bills. However, we reserve the right to impose fees in the future, and you will be informed of them in advance if we decide to do so.
Property rights
The content of the portal is the property of the National Survey Authority and is protected under the Omani laws related to intellectual property and copyright, and the customer may not use it, benefit from it, transfer it to other parties or publish it without obtaining the prior approval of the Authority.
